MICRO DEBURRING / FINISHING

Micro Deburring & Finishing Services

Based in our Rochester, NY facility, our dedicated deburring department consists of four full-time specialists with over 70+ combined years of experience.

This experience, coupled with an understanding of machining and print reading, allows them to work hand in hand with our engineers. When only the human touch will do, our customers have come to rely on our tribal knowledge of how to reach and successfully deburr cross holes, undercuts, threads, and deep internal bores.

All our manual deburring is done under the scope at 30x power. Additionally, BID employs the use of cobots, micro-blasting, and many proprietary methods to successfully deburr, polish, and finish your parts to the most demanding requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions about Deburring

What is micro deburring?

Micro deburring is a highly precise finishing process used to remove small, unwanted burrs and material imperfections from machined parts. This is done under high magnification (up to 30x) using specialized tools and is critical for ensuring the performance and reliability of high-tolerance components.

Why is professional deburring critical for defense and aerospace parts?

In defense and aerospace systems, even a microscopic burr can lead to component failure by causing friction, blocking fluid passages, or preventing a precise
fit. Professional deburring is essential for guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and proper function of these mission-critical parts.

Can you deburr internal features that are hard to reach?

Yes. Our 70+ years of combined experience have given us deep “tribal knowledge” in finishing complex internal geometries. We specialize in techniques to
successfully deburr cross-holes, deep internal bores, undercuts, and threads that are inaccessible to standard methods.
